Knots

There is probably not another skill that defines a Boy Scout as much as his ability to tie knots. Every Scout should know the knots required for First Class, as well as a few others that often prove useful. It is important to know both how to tie the knots and when it it appropriate to use each knot.

Scout knots:

  1. Bowline
  2. Clove hitch
  3. Half hitch
  4. Overhand knot
  5. Sheet bend
  6. Square knot
  7. Tautline hitch
  8. Timberhitch
