Cuts and Abrasions

Prevention is always the best first aid, so watch your step and be careful with sharp objects. If you or someone you are with gets a small cut or scrape:

  1. Apply pressure with a clean cloth or gauze to stop the bleeding.
  2. Clean the wound with water.
  3. Apply an antibiotic like Neosporin.
  4. Dress the wound with a bandage.
  5. Seek medical attention if you need stitches or think you may need a tetanus shot (especially if the wound is deep or dirty).
